Okay, the name given to this agate is - interesting. But it's a fabulous agate, one of my favorite plumes. It's mined in Idaho, in the eastern part of the state. This is a very recognizable agate, due to the patterns, colors and banded effect of the plumes. It's a fairly rare and desirable stone.

I've done what's called a "stone on stone" setting with the accent of the blue chalcedony. It is a technique where one gemstone is physically set into another larger stone, using an additional bezel set stone. The bezel set chalcedony has a "stem" on the back and is attached by drilling a hole in the agate, with this stem secured in the hole, to create a layered, integrated look.

The pendant itself is about 2" long, and has been oxidized and then sanded to a satin finish. The sterling rolo chain is 18" long.
